About Banasura Sagar Dam

The dam holds back the Karamanathodu, a tributary of the Kabini river. When the valley flooded, the hilltops became a cluster of small islands, which give the reservoir its famous look. The dam sits at the foot of the Banasura hills, a popular area for treks into the mountains.
